        Ride Information

Benalla is 200km north of Melbourne via the Hume Highway, in the North East of Victoria. It is 1 1/2 hours from the snowfields, and near a number of wineries and gourmet food centres including Milawa. There are many kilometres of quiet country roads great for bike riding, with a number of hill climbs for those interested including Mt Buller, Mt Buffalo and Tawonga Gap within striking reach. The Murray to Mountains rail trail is just 30km north of Benalla.

        Country Charity Challenges
The bike hike is the second ride in the series for cyclists in the North East Victoria and the Goulburn Valley where all funds raised go to not for profit organisations or charities.

        Entry Fees: 125km $50.00,   60km $30.00,   26km $20.00

        Start Times: 125km 8:00am,   60km 10:00am,   26km 11:00am
Start/Finish Line: Senior Citizens Hall adjacent to Benalla Rural City Council carpark on Fawckner Drive (an extension of Lowry Place) next to the lake. (If coming from Melbourne from the Hume Highway turnoff, turn right at the roundabout and head to town, turn right at the lights over the bridge in the centre of town, turn left at council offices).

We are keeping the course as per 2010 to avoid the major road in the area (the Midland Highway). Riders must average 25km per hour to finish the ride by 2pm.

The ride is being managed by supporters of Capability Building Inc (not for profit organisation) for EdSpace Training Centre. The usual support facilities will be in place, with a sag wagon, accident support etc.
